KillerGuides Monk Manual Review by Me

WoW Monk Guide Review

Let me ask you something: does the idea of delivering your paw into someone’s face appeal to you? Or would you rather do a round-house kick and watch your opponent skid away on his face? If you like all this kung-fu awesomeness then WoW’s monk class is your perfect fit! The monk is WoW’s newest class to Pandaria. Since I like to deliver punches, the monk is perfect candidate.

KillerGuidesGetting my copy of the game from a website called KillerGuides, this is a website which contains many game guides for lots of mmorpg/mmo games. They have an astonishing World of Warcraft category with guides for $29.99 USD each. Including in this category are the newly published Monk and WoP strategy books. I guess you’re wondering what’s in the books, right? Well, for one it’s in an e-book format which is immediately downloadable after purchase. The great part is the e-books also come in a printer friendly format therefore, you don’t have to waste ink printing colored pages!

Opening up the file, the guide contained over 80 pages of content all relating to the Monk, teaching you how to use the class before playing the game. Instructing me step by step, I read about the monk especially how to use each of the three builds effectively. The guide asks you what your playstyle is and once you established that, the author delves into detail the builds and skill rotations available according to your level. What I’m most pleased about are the choices of skill rotations that were available to me.

The other highlights in the WoW monk book was dungeons and its challenge modes. Now dungeons, what can I say about dungeons? They’re fresh, new and full of new challenges to look forward to. My party and I referred to the manual to experiment all the strategies the author wrote down. By completing challenges in a very short time, we were rewarded greatly! Time after time we referenced the book and it did show significant promise as we continued to tackle challenges easily. I mean, you can tell the content was written by a veteran gamer so kudos to the writer!

Recommending this to you guys, I really like, no, love the guide. It was professionally written by a veteran gamer and it covered topics posted on the website. Also, if you think this guide only stops at providing you with one update then you’re wrong; the website clearly states that customers will receive free updates!

Will There Be A Monk Class in Neverwinter?

neverwinter poster

Neverwinter is the next F2P game planing to be released in the end of June 2013. It is said to be a F2P game that receive the most attention from gamers although it still hasn’t released yet. One of the most promising features of the game is about choices of class. There are more than 25 classes can be chosen in the game, from simple fighter classes to complicated hybrid classes.

Neverwinter classes can be divided into 7 categories: martial classes, primal classes, divine classes, arcane classes, psionic classes, shadow classes, and mixed classes. There are 4 classes in each categories or about 28 classes in total. For a monk lover like me, can you guess which class I am looking forward the most in neverwinter? Yes. Monk class.

After several times looking at a class list from neverwinterguides.com, finally I found my beloved monk listed under psionic classes. There is not much information about it. The only thing we know so far is that psionic classes use psionic power which the origin of this power is from the outside world. This sounds really amazing.

Usually, monk is the perfect hybrid class that good at both healing and fighting close combat like in the World of Warcraft Mists of Pandaria. However, Neverwinter monk might be something very out of mainstream considering from the psionic power. We will know it once we have more information about the game.

Brewmaster the WoW Monk and Its Tank Spec

Hi all. Today I bring you a video to introduce you a new tanker class in the World of Warcraft, the brewmaster!. Brewmaster is one  of 3 specs of WoW monk guide. The below video will show you the abilities and capabilities of the spec. Is it will be a master of tanker of not? See it yourself.

WoW Monks Spec, Build and Talent

There is much more to the Monk class than meets the eyes. In order to play the class successfully, calls for a multitude of combined strategies and solid know-how in terms of talent builds, battle tactics, skill rotations and much more. Find out how to mold a killing machine of a Monk here.

Are you thinking of playing as a monk in World of Warcraft, but don’t know which talents to go for? Well, here is a quick guide on Monk’s specializations abilities! As you may know, the Monk class is a new hybrid class, meaning players can try all three roles: a healer, a tank, or damage dealer. By reading this guide, you will have a general idea of Monk Class.

Mistweaver, the healers of the party who specializes in healing and aiding other players, are one of the three available talents of Monks. Unlike priests and shamans who cast spells to heal one target or its surrounding allies, mistweavers specializes in casting spells that bounces between players or wrap up with healing mists. Furthermore, mistweavers are capable of melee healing. As a tip, use Jab to generate Chi, maintain the Blackout Kick buff, then use Tiger Palm to stack Vital Mist. When you filled up all the stack, use Surging Mist or Renewing Mist! Aim higher to get the mastery wow monk skills: Gift of the Serpent.

Brewmaster, a drunken martial art master, who plays a role as a tank. As the name speaks of itself, brewmasters throw Drunken Haze to its enemies, causing them drunk and 3 % chance to hit themselves. Unlike other tanks who takes in damage, they are based on evading. They have several avoidance abilities such as Guard, Shuffle, and Recoil that would help bypass damages or redirect damage to your mates to yourself. Once you receive the monk Mastery: Elusive Brawler, although you would not able to reduce the damage, but you will be able to delay the incoming damage to get prepared. Perhaps, it is time to have a sip of Purifying Brew, or throw another keg of Drunken Haze at the enemy.

Windmaster is a close-melee damage dealer, who uses martial arts techniques with their fists and feet. A windmaster can be flying up with his legs up high (Rising Sun Kick), do some rapid hand-strikes to stun the enemy (Fists of Fury), and many other cool moves. One of the most useful techniques of the windmaster is Afterlife. It will grant 50% chance of forming Chi Sphere or Healing Sphere. Out of the three monk talents, this is most likely the best talent for solo levelling.

There you go, a quick read for Monks. If you want to get your hands on actual gameplay tactics that have been proven to work, then we recommend to check this out.

Pandaria Monks Guide to Dungeon (Part 2)

Discover more about the Monk class from this Monk Compendium offered as an unofficial guide for the new Mists of Pandaria playable class.

Here are 2 more new dungeons that will be introduced in the upcoming World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria.

Shado-pan Monastery – Up in the northwest region of Kun-lai Summit, there lies a training facility owned by Shado-pan clan. This is where young monk pandarians learn their skills to be the protector of their own land. However, the trainees of Shado-pan clans are being possessed by dark spirit, Sha. It is up to you to save them! Let’s look at the 4 bosses in this dungeon.

Boss 1:
Gu Cloudstrike [level 89 elite] and his Lightning Dragon – Gu is the trainer of elite Shado-pan spellcasters. Of course, he knows how to use the powerful spells, and so when his mind was seized by Sha, he called in a Lightning Dragon when his HP is halved.

Boss 2:
Master Snowdrift [level 89 elite] – He is the master of martial arts in Shado-pan clan. You will be fighting with a lot of his students first before he himself comes down.

Boss 3:
Sha of Violence [level 89 elite] – The power of Sha has created a bloodthirsty creature in Shado-pan Monastery. It seems to be that this creature was created by the feelings of hatred and act of violence between the Horde and Alliance.

Boss 4:
Taran Zu [level 89 elite] – The leader of Shado-pan clan is now consumed by Sha of Hatred. When fighting against him, you need to find the right balance between proper DPS and proper Meditation. Calm him down, and bring back the peace in the home of Shado-pan clan.

Mogu’Shan Palace – As the name suggests, this is a huge palace that belongs to the Mogu empire. The reason for you to explore this palace is to challenge the king, Xin the weaponmaster. He posted a challenge to the people from the scattered fallen realms to test their strengths and give opportunity to bring back glory to their people. In order to get to the king, one must complete 3 stages!

Stage 1: Trial of the King
Are you ready to meet the king? Well, let’s start with an easy trial. Here, you need to defeat the three clan leaders of Mogu:
Kuai the Brute [level 93 elite] – He has a pet lion who fights with him.
Ming the Cunning [level 93 elite] – He is a spell caster who uses lightning, magnetic field abilities, and sometimes creates windstorms.
Haiyan the Unstoppable [level 93 elite] – He does the most DPS damage swinging his hammer around.

Stage 2: Gekkan
Onto the next stage where the leader of Glintlok clan awaits. Although he is known for his ruthless loyalty, his courage and tactical brilliance in battles inspires his soldiers to fight along his sides. You must fight against his subordinates and defeat the leader.
Gekkan [level 91 elite] – He is a close-ranged fighter, but there are 4 of his level 88 subordinates casting spells from the surrounding. Perhaps best to kill his subordinates first.

Final Boss: Xin the Weaponmaster
Now to the final boss! Defeat the boss, and show him that his title of “weaponmaster” means nothing to you.
Xin the Weaponmaster [level 93 elite] – The king of Mogu empire finally stands in front of you. Fire is his main elemental source. He does ground slam to cause rumbling fire, casts circle of flames that does fire damage, then all sorts of weapons like blades, crossbows, axes, and spears will be flying all over the room. Have fun evading!+

These are all the pandaria monks guide to dungeon. Hope you enjoy reading them.

or
Lorewalker Stonestep (Strife and Peril) [level 90 elite] in Trial of the Yaungol – Lorewalker was the keeper of the Scrolls. He lost control of his emotions and called in two creatues, Strife and Peril. He must find the balance of the two to set his soul free.

The Mists of Pandaria Monk offers a whole lot more customization via builds, talents and skill-sets than was available during the release of the unlockable Death Knight class. As such, the gameplay Walkthroughs here, would come in very handy for serious World of Warcraft gamers.

Pandaria Monk Chi and Racial Bonus in WoW MoP Guide

If you’re actually looking for more leveling-based details for the Monk class, read up on proven Monks-only leveling strategies said to have taken several Monks from 1 to 90 in under a week.

With the long awaited release of World of Warcraft’s newest expansion Mists of Pandaria just around the corner, many players are looking forward to playing the newest class to be introduced; the WoW monk. The monk class will be available to every race except the goblin and worgen, and, like the druid, will have the ability to either be a healer, damage, or tank. This WoW Pandaria guide will help give a short detail of what to expect as a monk.

Monks will rely on an energy reserve called Chi, which is like the energy used by warriors and death knights, to cast spells and use finishing moves. The WoW monk build that a player chooses will ultimately depend on their personal play style. The Brewmaster (tank) uses many avoidance abilities due to only being able to wear cloth and leather, and will use buffs from various brews in combat. The Windwalker (dps) is melee only and uses it’s chi to attack and use finishing moves, much like the rogue. The Mistweaver (healer) will be able to lay down statues to heal the party while at the same time doing damage.

mists of pandaria monk
If you are looking to tank as a monk, the main stats to focus on is stamina, dodge, mastery, hit, and expertise. For DPS, agility will be key, along with mastery, crit, hit, and haste. For healing, intellect will be the main focus then spirit, haste, mastery, and crit.

While there is no right or wrong answer to what race you have to choose, you need to make sure you consider the racial bonus for the class that you will choose. For instance if you are tanking, the Tauren would be ideal because of the 5% extra health bonus. Ultimately, players are likely to choose the Panderan, if for no other reason than that it is new. Racial abilities for the Panderan include Epicurean, which doubles the benefit from food buffs, and Quaking Palm, which puts the target to sleep for three seconds.

The monk class is likely to be in demand with the release of MoP, with most players eager to fall in love with the game and try out something new.

Capabilities of WoW Monks Class Guide

If you are looking for advanced Monk strategies and detailed walkthroughs; basically a fast-track Monk guide, then don’t miss out on this one here offered by a long time MMO game guide publisher.

World of Warcraft is known to be one of the best, if not the best, massively multiplayer online role-playing game today. With great graphics design, intriguing gameplay and a variety of classes and races to choose from, WoW can appeal to any type of gamer. And with the launch of World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, you’ve got to wonder what’s new about this version of such a widely anticipated and extremely popular game?

The introduction of a new class in WoW: Mists of Pandaria is what’s got avid WoW gamers in excitement. In this new installment of WoW, the game introduces an 11th playable class – the Monk. Sporting a noticeable Asian influence, the WoW Monk is based upon ancient martial arts that enable the class to play any role in a unit. Below is a useful world of warcraft monks tip to get you started.

WoW Monks Artwork

Historically, monks have been known for their bare-hand combat style and their healing capabilities. They are masters of balance and inner peace, using chi as their main energy source. In WoW, the monk class can also be described in this exact similar way. Pandaren masters haven chosen to share their knowledge and abilities with fighters from both factions, namely the Alliance and Horde. This means that you can play the monk class from whichever side you want to. Monks are immensely capable in every role, from damage to defense to healing.

Under the monk class, there are three sub-classes to choose from. These include brewmasters, mistweavers and windwalkers. The brewmaster monk serves as the tank of the party. Their drunken techniques and wild concoctions enable them to absorb tremendous damage. In addition, they have useful AoE skills that deal considerable damage and debuff. Mistweavers, on the other hand, are the healers of the party. They use different kinds of tea that can either heal you or boost your MP. Windwalkers are the meele damage dealers with DPS abilities. They deal damage mainly with the use of their fists and feet. Be sure to learn the warcraft monk build in terms of skills and equipment to harness the true power of the Monks.

The Overview of WoW Monk Skills Part 1

Discover more advanced gameplay tactics, Monk build recommendations and battle strategies from this class-specific Monk manual.

In the coming new expansion of the World of Warcraft, Mists of Pandaria, new monk class is added to this update. Monk have 3 play styles; Windwalker is the DPS, Brew Master is the Tank spec and Mist Weaver is the Healing spec. As of right now if you’re DPS or Tank you’ll have an energy bar as well as your Chi, although only a few of your abilities will use energy. If you’re a healer your energy bar will be replaced by a mana bar and you’ll cast like other healers although you’ll stand within melee range and you’ll even do some melee damage.

Getting right into the baseline abilities of wow monk what I found really interesting is that your main ability changes depending on what type of weapon you’re using. Your main ability will deal damage and generate one Chi. If you’re using a staff, you’ll use Clobber. If you’re dual-wielding maces, you’ll use Club. If you’re using a pole arm, you’ll use Pike, and if you’re using two axes, you’ll use Sever.

wow mop panda artwork

Blackout Kick deals physical damage to your enemy target and is only usable on targets with below 35 percent health. If the target is killed by Blackout Kick you’re refunded one Chi.

Crackling Jade Lightening is a 5.5 second channeled ability that causes Nature damage to your target. If your target is within melee range while you’re channeling them and they attack you they’re knocked back a short distance. This effect has an eight second cool down and it is a good way to leveling your pandaria.

Detox also has an eight second cool down and it eliminates ailments from a friendly target, removing all harmful poison and bleed effects.

Disable reduces your enemy target’s movement speed by twenty five per cent and stacks up to two times. If you use Disable a third time on a target that already has two stacks, all stacks will be consumed and the target will be rooted for eight seconds.

Expel Harm instantly heals a friendly target. It also causes 120 per cent of the amount healed to be instantly dealt as damage to a nearby enemy within five yards of your target.

Fortifying Ale has a three minute cool down and lasts 20 seconds. During this time your HP is increased by 100 per cent but you also cannot be healed. Just to interject with my opinion on this topic, I think that’s a really weird ability. A lot can happen in 20 seconds and it only doubles your health, and it just says that it increases your health by 100 per cent so I’m not sure if that means it just double your total, maximum health or if it doubles the health you had when you used the ability. In my opinion, that could be a really scary thing to use. If you’re a Tank I think it is a terrible idea, because you’re needing to pop cool downs you probably shouldn’t not be able to be healed for 20 seconds. I just feel like a Tank takes a lot of damage in 20 seconds.

pandaria artwork

Grapple Weapon has a one minute cool down and it’s really awesome. You fire a rope spear at your target and you steal their shield and their weapon. Depending on the quality of the shield and weapon either your damage done, healing done or damage reduction is increased.

Healing Sphere causes you to form a healing sphere at your target’s location for 30 seconds. If any friendly wow mists of pandaria leveling players walk through it they consume the sphere and heal themselves. A maximum of three healing spheres can be active at any given time.

For more details on the topic the KillerGuides game guide publisher offers an in-depth reference for Monks.

The Overview of WoW Monk Skills Part 2

Want to learn more about Monks than is publicly shared in most blogs and community sites? We recommend to check out this Monk manual.

Jab deals a small amount of damage and regenerates one Chi.

Legacy of the Emperor is a Monk’s buff. It increases strength, agility and intellect by five per cent.

Meditation is a channeled ability with a three minute cool down. It reduces all of your damage taken by 99 per cent and redirects all harmful spells cast against your allies within 30 yards to you. It lasts 10 seconds and if you are the victim of a melee attack the effect is canceled.

Paralysis has a 15 second cool down and it incapacitates your target for 30 seconds. If you do it from behind your target, the duration is doubled. Only one target can be a victim of paralysis at any given time and any damage will cancel the effect.

Provoke has an eight second cool down and causes you to mock the target which causes them to rush toward you and attack you at a 50 per cent increase movement speed. If you target your Statue of the

Black Ox instead of an enemy it’ll provoke all enemies within eight yards of the statue.

Quake has a two minute cool down and incapacitates your target for four seconds and turns off your attack. Now, my confusion about this is Monks didn’t have an auto attack. I thought that was the whole thing about wow monks is that they didn’t have an auto attack. How could it turn off your auto attack if you don’t have an auto attack?

wow panda

Resuscitate is a wow monks skills rez. It returns him to life with a 35 per cent of their maximum health and mana and cannot be cast in combat. The cast time is reduced by 50 per cent if the target is within melee range.

Roll is kind of like a Mage’s blank and it causes you to roll for a short distance.

Spear Hand has a 30 second cool down and it interrupts all spell casting and prevents any spell within that School of Magic to be cast for five seconds. If the enemy is facing you they are also silenced out of all Schools of Magic for five seconds.

Spinning Crane Kick causes you to spin around while kicking in the air dealing physical damage every one second for six seconds to all nearby enemies. It also says that movement speed is reduced by 30 per cent. I’m not really sure if that’s their movement speed or the Monk’s movement speed.

Tiger Palm causes you to attack with the palm of your hand dealing physical damage. It also deals additional damage if the target is above 50 per cent health.

Touch of Death is probably one of the Monk’s coolest abilities, which is why I saved it for last. That, and it alphabetically comes last, what a coincidence. It’s a PVE only ability meaning you can’t use it against other players or in PVP in battlegrounds. It has a 1.5 minute cool down and it causes you to instantly kill your target. Tell me that won’t be useful, because it will! It actually seems pretty overpowered. It’s only got a 1.5 minute cool down so, wow monk guide suggests you could use it in like quests that are supposed to be group quests and just instantly kill your target.

More advanced gameplay tactics and strategies for the class could be found over here.

New Talents System in the WoW Mists of Pandaria

This post is a good starting point to familiarize yourself with the Warcraft Monk class. For more in-depth content, game-play strategies and build recommendations, check out this Unofficial Monk reference book.

Now an interesting thing with the talents is that there are no longer points or ranks. You’ll no longer be seeing three out of three, one out of two, it’ll just be one. According to pandaria guide, You’ll be getting talents every 15 levels, which is quite a lot less than you get now, to be honest. Basically, when you get a talent point, you’ll have tiers, so you’ll have to choose one out of three talents. Then, you can only pick one of them, and you can’t go back later to get other ones in that tier.

new race panda in the mists of pandaria

In a sense, you get a tier one talent, go to tier two, get another one, go to tier three. You can’t be like, ‘Tier three talents suck, I’m going back to tier one talents and getting another one of those.’ Nope, you have to keep going along until the very end. Also, there’s no mandatory talents. It’s not like there’s going to be any cookie-cutter builds.

Basically, it’s all depending on how you play. If someone wants to get a little bit more CC, Cloud Control, and someone else wants to get a little more DPS, that’s fine. They’re both perfectly viable, it’s just on your play style. It’s just more customization based than it is now. It’s not just maxing out your stats, it’s kind of tweaking your wow mop guide to character to how you like to play your class most.

Also, they’re making it so you can change these really easily. They’re going to say it’ll be similar to the glyph system, where you pay a consumable each time, instead of the kind of ridiculous system now they have where it kind of increases exponentially in price each time you change it, which basically makes Druids very painful to play.

More class builds, skill rotations and insights on Monk talents and glyphs are shared here.

WoW New Spec Abilities Explained

Want to have a level 90 Monk fast? Then you’re going to need to know more about the class than is publicly made available to start out strong. This WoW Monk reference book comes recommended by many fellow WoW fans and is probably a way to go about molding a killer Monk.

Today I am bringing you some really interesting news on the new talent system in the recently announced expansion by Blizzard in Mists of Pandaria. Now, they took the current talent system and just kind of threw it out the window. They’re revamping it pretty much completely to be honest.

pandaria

Basically, what you have now is your class abilities, your spec abilities, and your talents. I’m going to be using a Mage as an example for most of this, so bear with me, but I’ll explain each ability to you know. A class ability is anything that works with any spec, no matter what you are. An example for Mages would be Time Warp. No matter if you’re a Fire Mage, a Frost Mage, Hurrican Mage, Time Warp is still useful, so you’ll get that no matter what spec you are.

Your spec abilities are abilities which kind of only pertain to your spec. Right now you get them when you first go into a spec. To give an example, with a Fire Mage you get Pyro Blast when you first get into the spec. They like stuff like that, stuff that really works well with your spec. You’re going to keep getting stuff as you go, so maybe you’ll get a spec ability when you first enter in. You’ll get a specialization ability at level 30, and a few more later. This spec is very important to create your class build such as wow monk build. They kind of don’t like all the clutter that’s in your spell book right now, and they’re trying to kind of clean it all up. They don’t like all the stuff on people’s hotbars, how it looks like a big, crazy mess.

WoW Mists of Pandaria Guide You to a Pet Journal

Discover more about the Monk class from this Monk Compendium offered as an unofficial guide for the new Mists of Pandaria playable class.

What the pet journal’s going to do is let you manage all your existing pets you have as well as the teams and the battling and everything that goes along with the new system. In this WoW Mists of Pandaria Guide, We’ll show you to give you a little bit more of a rundown about how the journal works.

wow mop pet journal

The other thing along with this is that most pets are going to become tradeable. It means you’re going to be able to get the pet from an event, like the Brewfest event and then be able to take it and then level it up to a certain level and then maybe teach it some abilities then you can go and take that pet it and throw it on the auction house, and someone else can get it. Based on the amount of time and work you put into it obviously it’s going to sell for what people think that’s worth. Not only the auction house that you can trade pet, but with your buddies, your friends and other players.

This is a huge one to have account wide pets. Meaning that if you have one set of pets on one character you log in another character, you’d be able to use those same pets. If you got a pet up to level 14, you log in another character that pet’s still level 14 and you have it. You don’t have to do it again multiple times for all the pets.

First Introduction to Pet Customization in WoW Mists of Panradia Guide

Having a solid understanding of the Monk class from the very first day you venture into Azeroth once again with the Mists of Pandaria expansion, is the key to winning fights, raids, dungeon bosses and fast leveling up. Learn from the Monk experts and never again be on the loosing side of fights.

Pets are something that pretty much everyone that plays World of Warcraft has a pet in some way, shape, or form. Essentially you’re going to be collect, you’re going to level and you’re going to fight with your pets. I’m going to go through all these in a little bit more detail, but first some key elements.

mop pet sceenshot

Pets are accessible to everyone. It is not a feature that was locked to the maximum level that only a few people could get access to. You’ll be able to start this at a really low level and start collecting pets, leveling them up and start building your team. Another thing is it’s going to work with almost every pet in the game right now, as well as a ton of new pets are going to be adding to the system for you to collect.

It’s also going to be a lot of customization. Things like being able to name your pets. Things like being able to have different ones. Giving them individual abilities, we’ll get into that more in a little bit like reading the pandaria tips for pet. It’s going to work with your existing pets. A lot of people are going to start the system and already have a pet to start with and get it going. There’s another type of pet that you’re going to be able to get. This is going to be called a wild pet. The way wild pets work is you’re going to find them out in the world. Essentially when you find them you’re going to be able to engage in battle with them and fight with them using a pet you already have, and then you’re going to be able get that pet and add them to your collection.

Now what’s cool about these wild pets is that they have random varying stats. You’re not going to necessarily just go out and be able to get all these wild pets you want within that first week because they’re going to have varying stats. You might want to pet that’s really good at tanking, or maybe a pet that say has a healing ability. You’re going to keep wanting collect these pets until you find the one that has that right set of stats then you can start pandaria leveling guide it up.

mop pet screen shot

The other thing about the wild pets that’s pretty cool is that they have unique spawning abilities. For example certain wild pets you might only find during a certain season, like winter. Certain pets you might only find when it’s raining. Certain pets might only spawn during the day or night, so there could be a pet that only shows up during the spring, while it’s raining, in a forest at night. Now there not all going to be like that obviously but people have a lot of pets to collect over a long period of time.

Learning about the Monk class is not as easy as it may seem. Besides what we discussed here, there’s builds, skill rotations, raids, methods to level up and an entire Pandaria lore to go about. If you want to quickly walk a completely leveled-up Monk and start on the end-game content fast, then these Pandaria manuals would come in very useful.
